About the RGT

The Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) was established in 1992 with the aims of improving the status and profile of guitar teachers, and helping to ensure their professional recognition within the mainstream of music education, by the establishment of an accredited range of comprehensive and well structured teaching programmes.

RGT in now the world's largest organisation of guitar teachers and, in conjunction with its partner London College of Music Examinations, provides accredited exams in electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, classical guitar and popular music theory. Exams take place throughout all regions of the UK, as well as in Europe, N. America, Australia and the Far East.
